After the 4 advertisement competitions that were hosted, The recent ad competitions don’t seem to be receiving as much interest as it did on the first competitions, and it seems the community is no longer interested, especially after the most recent advertisement competition.

To research this further, I’ve investigated the submission counts for each advertisement competitions (diagram not by me). And as suspected, it really seems users are losing interest in ad competitions.
Why is this happening?
I’ve researched and concluded 3 reasons:
Ad competitions feel repetitive
Psychologically, when something feels repetitive to someone, it no longer feels fun. It happens because human brains are always looking for something new and fun. However, the ad competitions have felt somewhat the same, therefore losing significant interest
Unfair, or strict rules
After the most recent competition, I have concluded that the hosts sometimes add strict rules for their event. As an example, in figure 2, @xotic_390 asked for all audios to be licensed mid-contest. This:
– Made contestants feel discouraged to continue
– Basically asked contestants to start over
– Made the rewards less than the licensing required
– Added hard and time-consuming efforts to all submissions.

Satisfied winners and exhausted contestants
After the winners received their rewards, some of them don’t see the point in participating again. Meanwhile, the participants who haven’t made it on the podium don’t want to participate again because they’ve already used up their efforts on their previous submission.
Own preferences
Simplest reason of them all, many participants who have participated before simply don’t want to participate again. I don’t need to reason here, it’s just someone’s wish.
Conclusion
From the points made, I’ve safely concluded that ad contests are losing submissions because they don’t feel as fun as they used to, they’re repetitive, some of the hosts, though not all, have put a strict rule on their events, and some contestants simply do not wish to participate again.
