On the 19th of July, 2026, the first Sunday of UK’s Summer Holiday break, SCR posted the following sneak peak on their official Instagram at 20:06. After extensive analysis from our team, we have deciphered all that’s new with evidence, and we also look at what else could come in this update.
This is an analysis of a sneak peek image. We have the same knowledge as everyone else in the community. Some things may be incorrect or subject to change at the will of SCR developers.
Which train is getting the remesh?
The sneak peek seems to feature a remeshed class 720 or 730 at Morganstown. We can tell due to the positioning of the door indicators in the image, and due to the distinct purple station sign and the lounge. When compared with a real 720 and 730 image, the door indicators both appear to be in the same place, confirming what classes it could be. Furthermore, the guard key lock is in the same position. The only thing missing is the safety information.

We think that this could imply the remesh of the entire Aventra family, as recently the entire Electrostar family was remeshed, so with one Aventra being remade, we think that this could imply the remake of all of them.
Potential guarding rework
Along with the door indicators, we can see keyholes for a guard panel. Although a stretch, we can assume that this is progress towards potential physical guarding system. This could be done in response to British Railway’s new guarding UI, almost as if they’re trying to “one-up” them.
Potentially, as we’ve previously seen in the Prototyping Centre, this could also mean the addition of manual doors. This would be on theme for the sneak peek!

A suspicious post name
Another thing to note is the name of the post – “Let’s get this show on the rails!”. The SCR Developer team is known for hiding secrets in the post names regarding the rest of the update.
A speculation we have is that this could be alluding to the addition of meshed tracks, as none are shown in the sneak peek screenshot itself. It’s a wild shot, however with summer coming up, it would be the perfect time for developers to release a big update like that.
Furthermore, it isn’t impossible for them to do something like this. We have seen previously with them adding panto-graphs that they are open to the idea of having larger updates. Adding panto-graphs required them to remake the entire OHLE network, just like remaking the tracks would.
Community thoughts
“honestly I would really love seeing the guarding panel finally in the game, and with the new sneak peak that looks so promising”

I completely agree! I think its time that guarding receives a refresh in SCR. It would make it a lot more interesting.
“It’s a remeshed Aventra on Connect it appears”
