SCR Released its second V2.4 sneak peak at 8PM yesterday, showcasing a waterline pacer boarding at Rosedale Village, with the caption “Let’s shake it up a little!”. After extensive analysis, we have come to a list of key things in this sneak peek that have been revealed that I will cover in this article.
A new pacer class
Currently, in SCR, we only have one pacer, the class 143 on Waterline; However today’s sneak peek shows a pacer with the train number cut off – however from the “4051” we can still make out that it is not a class 143! This confirms that the class 144 pacer is being added to SCR.
Additionally, this pacer potentially will have the ability to be driven in a double variant, or as a 3 car.

Meshed tracks being teased?
It’s definitely worth mentioning that both sneak peeks have not shown any track.
To me, this seems intentional. Why else would the developers be hiding the track? Furthermore, I feel like since this is the next big update since version 2.3, which added pantographs, the developers are planning another huge update.
And lastly, we have seen meshed tracks before in the SCR Prototyping centre. This shows that they already have a model for them, and that they are open to the idea of adding them!
What does the community think?
“Mesh tracks the past 2 sneak peaks have been deliberately shot at those angles to prevent seeing the tracks”
-georgieps
“is the newry branch finally getting an upgrade?? by far the worst looking”
-stupidarchie
The Newry theory is interesting, if Waterline is getting noticed in this update it is possible that the developers update Waterline even further.
The general consensus amongst the community is that it is weird that the developers haven’t shown the tracks yet.
Conclusion
This sneak peek focuses on the new Waterline 144 pacer. It also reinforces our meshed track theory, being the second sneak peek in a row to not show the tracks. What do you think? Feel free to join the SCR Discord to share your voices and to have a chance to be featured in a future article!
